Two teenagers, drawn to each other by the very things that would tear them apart, begin a romance that will have great consequences they could not predict. While they lead seemingly normal lives to anyone on the outside, nothing about them is normal.

Monica guards the secret of her Spriet heritage that, if exposed, would put her life, and the lives of those she loves, in danger. And yet, when her community is put in harm’s way, her incredible abilities might be all that can protect them from the Drachenians. If she reveals her abilities, she risks Brian knowing what she is and seeing her as an enemy.

Brian is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Monica to be his. He must follow his beliefs as he fulfills the Drachenian role he has been groomed for,  Hopefully, Monica can come to see the world as he does and support his passions.

When Monica and Brian discover one another’s secrets, the severity of their differences threatens to keep them apart. They struggle with their undeniable attraction as they are left to navigate their way through hatred, love, suspicion, pain, and the parts of themselves that they cannot tame.
